Super Mario Genderswaps! This was a super fun design challenge, and I’m pretty pleased with how they all turned out — especially Luigi. My favourite thing is how Waluigi just looks the usual design, but in drag.

My friend Mink and I were chatting about Sherlock Holmes BBC and Honey Badger and this was the result.

Notice the use of zipper, wool, and masking tape which obviously reflect Captain America’s devotion to liberty, justice, and the American Way! Red ink represents my impatience at standing in line for the blue ink.
I’m real good at artist statements! =D
Edit: This was made using a collograph printmaking technique. I wrapped tinfoil around the template, used a brayer on the tinfoil to get the details showing through, applied ink with another brayer, then ran the template and a sheet of watercolour paper through an antique press. (Sorry! I’m not sure how to answer questions on reblogs!)
